Webinar: Ogoniland clean-up dashboard

1,000 days in to the Ogoniland clean-up, most communities are still awaiting clean-up, clean water, and health programmes

This webinar introduces the launch of our dashboard tracking progress in the clean-up of over 50 years of oil pollution in Ogoniland. We were fortunate to hear from Harry van Dijk, the Dutch Ambassador to Nigeria, and Sharon Ikeazor, the Minister of State for Environment,  as well as a response to our findings by Prof. Philip Shekwolo, Head of Operations at HYPREP.

Together with our partner, CERHD, and with the support of a range of civil society organisations involved in our monitoring project, we are transforming data on the clean-up into an accessible visual online dashboard. This dashboard will be regularly updated throughout the clean-up, increasing public scrutiny and accountability across key indicators in the clean-up effort. SDN and CERHD will also release bi-annual reports with our analysis of clean-up progress, the first of which is now available.

We thank our funder, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, for their crucial support to this project.
