Vision and Mission

Vision

There is presently an asymmetry of power in negotiating economic and social contracts between stakeholders in the global economy, with powerful multinational companies and private financial institutions in the strongest position. There should be a new more equitable global economic and social contract, which corrects this asymmetry of negotiating power and ensures that basic rights - including to economic and social development - are not sacrificed in one part of the world to benefit another.

Mission

Support efforts of communities and civil society affected by extractive industries and weak governance in the global South - initially in the Gulf of Guinea - to communicate and negotiate with other stakeholders so they get a better deal from the investments and operations that affect their lives, livelihoods and environment.
