Our Local Partners

SDN's partners in the Niger Delta are young civil society organisations very committed and determined to bring about a sustainable change. SDN supports them with the funding, trainings, advice and coordination of their efforts.

GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT ACTION (GADA)

Over the last decade, GADA has been in the forefront of the struggle for gender-equity and equality in politics and development in Nigeria. Our commitment has been to poorest and most marginalized constituencies, of which women comprise a disproportionately high segment. Over the years, the organization has developed cutting – edge expertise working with a wide range of local and international partners to implement actions around women’s social, economic, cultural and political rights.

CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENT HUMAN RIGHTS AND DEVELOPMENT (CEHRD)

The Center for Environment, Human Rights and Development (CEHRD) is a rural-based and rural-focused non-profit organisation founded by conservationists, environmentalists, activists, and health workers in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. CEHRD was formed to respond to the environmental, human rights, rural health, and underdevelopment problems plaguing the Niger Delta. Our goal is to serve as a bridge between the rural communities of Nigeria and their rights by empowering them through education and assistance.

CENTER FOR SUSTAINABLE PEACE INITIATIVE IN NIGERIA (C-SPIN)

The Sustainable Peace Initiative Nigeria (SPIN) envisages a society of people having a clear understanding of the connection between peace and development and is placing priority on the peace and development process in society. Our goal is to encourage all stakeholders with an interest in peace, good governance and development to begin building bridges between themselves and to create a network and co-operate in building peace, bringing development and creating viable, positive and resourceful communities.

JUSTICE DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE CARITAS COMMISSION (JDPCC)

The Justice, Development and Peace Commission/ Caritas (JDPCC), Port Harcourt, is a Non Governmental Organization of the Catholic Diocese of Port Harcourt, which was set up by the Catholic Bishops of Nigeria, with the sole aim of attending to the societal issues which borders on securing social justice, facilitating development and upholding of the Human Right and Dignity within the society.

NIGER DELTA PROFESSIONALS FOR DEVELOPMENT (NIDPRODEV)

NIDPRODEV is a Nigerian non-governmental organization (NGO) operating in the Niger Delta since 1999. Its current programs focus on good governance, the security and development nexus at the community level, capacity building, and livelihoods. Its activities include community assessments and data analysis, organizational capacity assessments and capacity building, training workshops, mentoring and mediation, and socially inclusive collective action for positive change.

PRO-NATURAL INTERNATIONAL (PNI)

Pro-Natura International Nigeria works to achieve long-lasting solutions for community development within the Niger Delta. By establishing trusted and transparent Community Foundations, PNI helps communities to lead their own development process. By building institutions, capacity, trust and confidence within the community, PNI is redefining community-led development in the Niger Delta through the Community Development Foundation Initiative.

SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT INTEGRATED CENTER (SA)

Social Action (Social Development Integrated Centre) is an organisation dedicated to education, mobilisation and solidarity for communities and activists working for environmental justice, democracy and social change in Nigeria and the Gulf of Guinea. The organisation is promoting increased citizens’ participation in addressing policy and practices in energy and mining, trade and investments that affects human rights, democracy and livelihoods.

COMMUNITY CONCILIATION AND DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (CCADI)

CCADI is a not-for-profit organization based in the Niger Delta region with vast and diverse interest in grassroots community enlightenment, political empowerment, social advocacy and mobilization. It aims to empower the communities of the Niger Delta and give them a stronger voice in the pursuit of public good and effectively demand for government transparency and accountability in service delivery.
