Ethnic
The Niger Delta is home to more than 200 different ethnic groups. However, even if conflicts in the Niger Delta have been ethnically charged, especially in Warri, ethnicity has only been used as a motivator for underlying political and monetary gains. Ethnicity is a secondary driver of conflict in the Niger Delta even if used as a primary agent of violence.
